A native of Des Moines, Jacqueline is a graduate of Carleton College located
in Northfield, Minnesota. She is Director of the Community & Diversity Services
for Mercy Medical Center and a Director of US Bank. Elected in 1990, Jacqueline was the first African American female to serve on the Des Moines School Board. Jacqueline is also President of I’ll Make Me A World in Iowa, the largest African American Arts Festival in Iowa. Those are just to name a few of the many community events that she has taken part in over the years. Jacqueline has
been widely recognized for her community involvement including Dollars and Sense Magazine’s “Outstanding Business and Professional Award”, Iowa
Jaycees Outstanding Young Iowan, YWCA Woman of Achievement, and many more. Jacqueline is married to District Court Judge Odell McGhee II and they
have two children.
